The Patient Care Associate (PCA)/Student Nurse provides high quality, direct patient care to an assigned group of patients, while providing an atmosphere that supports our mission To Heal, To Educate, To Care. This includes, but is not limited to: activities of daily living, simple treatments/procedures, telemetry monitor set up, phlebotomy, blood glucose monitoring, oxygen set up, simple dressings, etc. This individual works collaboratively with other care team members including the patient and family, and participates I patient care conferences to achieve optimal outcomes. The PCA/Student Nurse has access to confidential patient information, must communicate with all team members regarding care provided by them to the assigned patient group and carries out daily activities under the direct supervision of a Staff Nurse, RN or Assistant Nurse Manager and indirect supervision of the Nurse Manager or Unit Director.
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Certifications and Credientials: Completion of Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.), Patient Care Tech. or equivalent program preferred or currently enrolled in an accredited school of nursing for Student Nurse designation. Current licensure/certification as applicable required. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required. Phlebotomy training preferred.
Experience: Minimum of one-year experience in direct patient care preferred (including nursing assistant, phlebotomy, licensed practical nurse or physical therapy assistant).
Rotating Shifts may be required.
