The Manager for Case Management is responsible for the direction and development of Adena Health System's Case Management programs, including acute inpatient care coordination, chronic disease management, patient centered medical home and UR clinical denials management.  This position is responsible for the implementation, execution, and evaluation of the Case Management functions/operations of the healthcare system, including overseeing utilization management, authorization processes, care facilitation, discharge planning, care coordination across the continuum and denial management.  Additional accountabilities include promoting the use of clinical outcomes as tools for resource monitoring and control, variance tracking, physician utilization, and quality of care outcome determination; interacting with various medical groups; and coordinating with contracted vendors to provide a continuum of care for patients.The Case Management Manager is responsible for hiring, mentoring, performance evaluation and disciplinary action administration for all staff included in Adena Health System's Case Management programs, as well as department budgeting, annual program review, and establishing and reporting department metrics consistent with the Case Management goals of the healthcare system.  The Case Management Manager, in collaboration with medical staff leadership, creates a support structure for achieving clinical and operational excellence in relation to Case Management initiatives.  The Case Management Manager is involved in the direction and education of all aspects of Case Management functions/operations and will be held accountable to work in a collegial manner with physicians, staff, and consultants.This position has access to confidential patient, system and financial information.  This position makes decisions independently and/or in collaboration with others and does not perform direct patient care.

Required Education, certifications and credentials:  Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Healthcare related field Master's degree preferred.  Licensed as Registered Nurse (RN) in state of Ohio.

Experience:  Four or more years' experience as a Case Manager (or equivalent) in an acute care hospital; two or more years' management experience or equivalent leadership experience preferred.
